In the old days, those looking for off-road luxury beast mode chose Land Rover, while those looking for high-test performance sedans went with Jaguar. Today, Jaguar Land Rover North America announced that the F-TYPE was recently honored on Edmunds.com's list of most popular 2016 vehicles. Substantially upgraded for the 2016 model year, F-TYPE earned the top spot in the Premium Sports Car category.

2015 has seen the redesigning of a couple of Jaguar's most prestigious models, and the addition of two more. What do these cars all have in common, you might ask? The realization of the aluminum-bodied dream, and the crafty hands of designer Ian Callum, of course. Today, we're going to talk about the redesigned XF, and how it drives.

How much do you know about the 2016 Jaguar XF? The sedan is as elegant as you'd expect, with some significant innovations: The sedan has a new Aluminum Intensive Architecture (75 percent aluminum and 25 percent steel) that reduces the car's weight by 190 kg (416 lbs), making for a more athletic drive. So says Joe Eberhardt, president and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. Jaguar is going to grow its presence in the luxury market. How? By playing up its emotional connection with consumers while updating their lineup with models like the XE and F-Pace and making a greater effort to cater to the basic needs of drivers.
